Spam Comments

Just a note to my readers:

Spam comments started appearing a while ago in my older posts. They are gibberish with a link. The comments were only appearing in really old posts though, and the same few posts were affected.

But this morning, I just received one of these spam comments on a very new post. I'm just warning all that you might see obnoxious junk in the comment section, but your real comments are always appreciated! You just have to pass a little test before your comment goes through. Most of you are familiar with the text verification system used on the Internet. Just type the word that appears in that box near the enter comment box, and that's it.

Sorry for the hurdle.

this word verification thing is soooo annoying. Why must we pay collective punishment for the actions of one person/robot. Israel loves giving collective punishment-(for ex. in gaza war or curfew in the westbank). I like this blog but a zionist is a zionist is a zionist. how about giving a referendum on the word verification thing that way we can choose, let this blog be a democracy...so one day we can take it over and kick you out.
lol just kidding!
btw, if there is a war in Iran what are the chances they will send you? or will they just nuke them?

To Anonymous:

If action is taken against Iran I doubt any infantry will be sent, or anyone will be nuked. It will probably be like Iraq 1981 or Syria more recently: Just planes bombing reactor site(s). Even if Iran's threats of igniting Hizbullah and others like never before following such a strike go through, I don't think it's likely Danny would see much worse than if he had been around during the second intifada.

It would be a combination of Special ops and air force. No infantry needed, Israel doesn't need anymore occupied territory to fight in. :)

As his brother I am just wondering when infantry is needed? If not quickly to support forward forces then when? Love you bro! Be safe! You definitely the man!!!

The only action Danny may logically see in a future confrontation with Iran is at best, continuing his deployment in keeping the West Bank from flaring up with terrorism, at worst, be part of an invasion force into Lebanon/Gaza in case Iran's proxies decide to join in on the action. In any case, may the G-d of Israel keep your brother and all of the Jewish warriors safe throughout these dark times.

they might send the combat engineers to plant explosives in the sites from within.

hey danny: do the combat engineers plant explosives and stuff?? and do they make car bombs?

oh... I don't think I can do it. I can't... type.... wordssssssssss nooooooo

Planting explosives deep within enemy territory would not be the job of combat engineers, if it were to even occur. That is more special forces type activity.

anonymous- im not sure but i think they have a special forces combat engineering unit called Saayeret Yahalom. I think they are the ones that go deep into enemy territory and plant explosives and car bomb assassinations and stuff. - not the regular special forces.
It would be nice if Danny the blogger could shed some light on this if he knows.
i also heard everyone in combat engineering has missing fingers or are deaf

i have 2 friends who just finished their 3-year service as combat engineers, they have all 10 fingers/toes and can hear perfectly well....

Great insight, Danny. A good read. The comments were interesting, as well. Seeing the distant security fence from the Shereover Promenade was sobering. You can't ignore reality when it's so visible.
