An Article Loosely About Yours Truly

A good friend of mine here in Israel, Paul Gross, is one of the country's rising, brilliant political and social commentators. Why is he so brilliant? Mainly because he featured me in an article for a British Jewish paper he contributes to biweekly. Let's not mention his high-profile speechwriting, Israeli embassy experience, connections, and numerous published articles.

Here is the link to a very fancy web version of the newspaper The Jewish News. If you want to read the bit, flip to page 8. The article is highlighted in yellow. If it doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you... it's really high tech.

Either way, this is like the third article about yours truly in a newspaper. I'm movin' on up!

cool, article. Everyone who has been reading this blog until now is very proud of you. :)

Quick question, I turn 18 in January and I'm enlisting in the IDF. I'v been working myself hard to get in really good shape. I wear contacts/glasses (-3.50) can I still get into an elite unit like golani or givaati?

Regardless.... I'll be happy with wtvr combat unit im placed in.

Thanks Danny for this blog, reading through your experiences has been really insightful. All the best.

I agree 100% with your analysis of Paul Gross.

Danny from LA - I'm not sure, because as far as I know, -3.50 is pretty damn strong. I can say, however, that we have a guy who wears glasses, and he is absolutely WORTHLESS without them! His nightvision even with them sucks, too. So...

Good luck. And by the way, don't go too crazy about getting in shape. They'll help you with that:)

But if you want a word on what exactly to do to get in shape, I'd say this:

Run 1.2 miles (2k) as FAST as you can. Sprint it. Try to break below 8 minutes. Let me know what you get - but do it for real.

Do 75 pushups straight.
Do 86 situps straight.

Let me know how you do with that.
