Support troops outnumber front line combat troops 6 or 7 to one in the IDF. In the Israeli Army (green uniform branch of the IDF) the ratio's about 6 to one.

According to IDF Regulations combat troops are only required to receive 1 weekend furlough of 48 hours for every 35 consecutive days they are on duty. Everything else is extra!

In Golani 12, there are currently units that get furlough only once every 24 days for 48 hours, so you'd better enjoy the extra free time off while you have it.

I figured I should straighten this whole hebrew thing up and clarify that its not V'Shabbat but U'Shabbat because when you have a ו and a ש next to each other, the ו makes an ooo sound not a v' sound.
